Ice Globes

Table of Contents

A wide variety of ice globe facial massagers are currently popular in the market, with retail prices ranging from a dozen to several dozen dollars. As a new skincare beauty tool, what are ice globes made of? And what’s benefits for ice globes? Are Ice Globes Worth It? How do you select durable ice globes on the market? As a buyer, what should you pay attention to when customing or importing ice globes? Come, let’s take a look.

What are ice globes made of?

Generally speaking, the material of a facial globe can be stainless steel or glass. In this article, we will especially explain in detail all aspects of the glass ice globe.

Most ice globes are made of high-grade borosilicate glass. Compared with ordinary glass, high-grade borosilicate glass has no toxic or side effects, and a very low thermal expansion coefficient, which is only about one-third of that of ordinary glass. This will reduce the effects of stress on the product due to temperature gradients, resulting in greater resistance to fracture.

It is commonly used for the construction of reagent bottles, flasks as well as cookware and containers for medical and health supplies. Virtually all modern laboratory glassware is made of borosilicate glass.

What's inside the ice globes?

Most facial globes liquid on the market is composed of antifreeze and pure water, and the proportion of them varies from different manufacturers. Some cold globes contain a certain percentage of hydrosol.

In addition, some other things can be filled in these cooling globes, such as glitter PET, flowers (petal gel or preserved flowers), golden or silver foils, water beads, etc. These ice globes look more beautiful and attractive, also at a higher cost than that of solid-color ones, as it requires more materials and labor costs.

Are Ice Globes Worth It?

Before we talk about the benefit of cryo globes, let’s see what is cryotherapy treatment first.

Cryotherapy, sometimes known as cold therapy, is the local or general use of low temperatures in medical therapy to treat a variety of tissue lesions.

Cryotherapy is particularly popular for its anti-aging effects, and when the skin is exposed to sub-zero temperatures, it triggers the body’s natural protective response and causes many positive effects.

When we use the cold globes to massage our face, the skin is exposed to low temperatures and will react spontaneously after experiencing such cold temperatures, resulting in a better nursing effect.

What is the Benefits of Ice Globe For Face?

Reduce Oiliness:

One of the most amazing benefits is to reduce oiliness, which may be able to lessen the amount of acne that you suffer from. In addition, it can reduce the size of pores without damaging the skin, which will keep excess oil production at bay. The benefits of getting rid of excess oil include reducing blackheads and pimples, preventing acne breakouts, and preventing other skin blemishes.

Reduce inflammation and Decrease Acnes & Skin Blemishes:

Inflammation is the main reason why pimples and acne breakouts develop. Putting ice globes on the pimple or acne for a few minutes can stop it from growing any larger, as the freezing temperature restricts your blood flow, which reduces swelling and relieves your pain.

Eliminate Puffiness:

The cold contact from ice globes helps constrict the capillaries and in this way prevent more oedema (a build-up of fluid) around the eye area forming. Cool compresses and massage also improves the sensation, in turn bringing relief to tired, puffy or irritated eyes.

Diminishes Signs of Aging:

Regular cold therapy/massage on the face is a great way to reduce as well as prevent signs of aging. It helps to accelerate blood circulation and increase metabolism, as well as ensure that your anti-aging skincare products sink deeper to work better. Additionally, since ice globes also help in tightening your pores and skin, it is a great way to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

Going to a beauty salon for skin treatment with a professional freezer is a high-cost thing, for money and time. Moreover, doing it only a few times may not be of much use, you need to keep it to maintain the skin in a good condition.

However, with the ice globes, you can have cryotherapy treatment at home, also at a low cost, and easier to persist. So, it’s a cost-effective and happy thing in our daily life.

How to Use Ice Globes for Face?

How to use and store is a matter of great concern to consumers. For facial globes, these two aspects are also interrelated. Let’s look:

How To Use Ice Globes?

Here are some steps for your daily use reference:

Step 1: Preparation Before Using

First, clean the ice globes with soap or disinfectant, rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Place in refrigerator or freezer for 15-30 minutes.

While waiting, please cleanse your face and apply your oil, moisturizer, or serum on it.

Some Tips For You:

How To Store Your Ice Globes?

After use, please properly rinse and air-dry your ice globes, then place them in the box, out of the reach of children.

While our ice globes can be kept in the refrigerator or freezer for extended periods of time, we do not recommend this. Storing glass at low temperatures for long periods of time is not conducive to increasing the life of the product.

FAQ

Yes, you can put the ice globes in freezer overnight. However, we don’t recommend that you do this often. Just put them in freezer at around 15~30 minutes before you use.

You can try to placing them in warm water at 40°C-50°C / 104°F-122°F for about 5-10 minutes is best for a warm massage. Please don’t forget to test the temperature on hands before you put it on face. Long-term hot compress at 45 degrees will cause the risk of low-temperature burns on the skin.

Normally we suggest that 40℃-50℃ (104℉-122℉) is the best for the warm massage, and it will stay for about 15mins. Don’t forget to test the temperature on hands before you put it on face.

The ice globes would help you to vanish last night’s fatigue instantly. They actually work with every product you would like to absorb better.

From a user’s experience: As someone who suffers from acne, icing my pimples is one of the best things I’ve done! I don’t ice my whole face but the moment I feel a bump or see redness, I ice it for about 2-3 days for like 10 minutes each time and the pimple doesn’t end up turning red and angry which means no scar! You just gotta do it before it turns big and mad.

Yes! These are excellent to add to your makeup fridge.

After use, we recommend that you can clean the globes with facial cleanser to remove the oils left on, or wipe with sanitizer cloth.

If you accidentally break the ice globes and the antifreeze in the ball gets on your face or body, please don’t worry, the solution is safe and non-toxic, just rinse it off with water.

The ice cubes are too harsh on ones skin, they are colder than the globes. If you use ice cubes they could cause burning and they make such a mess when they melt against your skin.

Comparison With Other Beauty Tools

Many consumers may have other facial massage beauty tools already, such as ice rollers, jade rollers, gua sha, etc. So are they with the same skin care effect? And what’s the difference between them?

Ice Globes VS Ice Roller

They are two similar products that are both used as cryo therapy to help reduce puffiness, inflammation and tighten pores. In fact, the two products have different materials to choose from. Ice globes can be made of metal (stainless steel) or glass, and the ice roller can be made of plastic or metal. You can decide which one to use according to your own preferences.

Ice Globes VS Jade Roller

These are two different products whose functions are complementary. The jade roller has a great effect on massaging the skin. It presses very gently without any irritation, increases blood flow and relaxes the nervous system. We recommend using a jade roller at the end of your skincare routine, long-term use can calm the skin, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Some people may ask if it is possible to freeze jade rollers instead of ice globes, which we generally do not recommend because even if you freeze them, the rollers will return to room temperature within a few minutes after taking them out of the freezer. Ice globes or ice rollers are better options for cold compress.

Ice Globes VS Guasha

If you want a more intense facial massage than the jade rolling or ice rolling offer, you can try guasha, which is used for sculpting jawlines and cheekbones. Gua sha stones are made to tightly contour the lines of your face or body, providing significant sculpting benefits with regular use.

Guasha tools are mostly made of jade, stainless steel, horn scraping board, porcelain, wood, etc. It’s a totally different beauty tool from ice globes.

Comparison of Ice Globes on The Market

More and more factories began to produce ice globes these years, in order to have a general understanding of the current market situation, we selected 3 factories, according to different levels of their prices, to get samples for testing. Below is our testing process, these samples are compared from different aspects:

Package Comparison

Each of the three factories sent 2 sets of samples,  as shown in the below picture. For the convenience of naming, we label the samples of the three factories as A, B, and C, respectively.

A & B packages are blister tray + ordinary gift box, and C package is blister tray + display box. Since the outer packaging can be customized according to your request, so we do not show the color boxes from each factory.

And as far as we know, the color boxes design used by several factories are very similar, and we can’t see too many differences from the pictures alone. Therefore, let’s first look at the blister:

Sample A

Sample B

Sample C

Judging from the samples we got, C’s blister has some damage. The following are the dimensions of the blister tray samples we received:

Blister Tray
Thickness
Dimension
Weight
A
0.232 mm
16.1*11*5.9 cm
21.8 g
B
0.209 mm
15*10.9*5.2 mm
16.6 g
C
0.096 mm
15.1*10.8*5.8 cm
14.4 g

From the above-measured dimensions, we can see that A blister tray is the best, for thickness and dimension. Although there will be deviations in manual measurement, it can be clearly seen that the blister of A is significantly longer.

Of course, if you are still not satisfied with the blister tray thickness, we can help to thicken it in mass production, which may increase a little cost. However, if you are not satisfied with the size of the blister tray and need to open a new mold, the increased cost may be higher.

Product Size & Weight Comparison

Some customers once asked us to provide the weight of the ice globes, as they want to know the quality of the product through it. In practice, this is not very comprehensive, as each factory’s ice globes have slightly different sizes and liquid amounts, so it is common to see a few grams difference in weight.

We measured the size of all ice globes. The diameter is basically 50mm, with the error within 1mm. The total length of is 13.5cm, with the error within 0.1mm.

A: 90.1 g

B: 88.7 g

C: 92.2 g

It can be seen from the above data that B is the lightest. Although some glitter is added, the weight is still lower than that of the solid-color A and C.

We thik slight differences in weight and size won’t make a big difference to your usage. Let’s continue:

Glass Thickness Test

This data may be concerned many guests.

Ice globe glass thickness is not easy to measure because the sphere is round and it’s blown, which results in a different thickness for each part of the sphere.

Here, we choose a position close to a certain distance from the handle to measure the thickness, as a reference to measure the quality.

A: 0.74 mm

B: 0.41 mm

C: 0.54 mm

It can be seen from the above data that B is the thinnest. When we did the experiment, it was also the easiest to break. In contrast, Sample A is the strongest.

This can also be seen in our video of breaking the ice globe A. (It is recommended to turn on the sound to watch, you can notice the knocking is very strong.)

So can we think that the thicker the ice globe, the less likely it will break? To a certain extent, it does.

Ice Globes Wholesale Service

We offer wholesale service for ice globes, and all wholesale shipments are packaged in neutral packaging without any brand or manufacturer information. Below are the different packages for singe package & pair package.

View All The Ice Globes We Have.

One thing to emphasize is that if you just order a small quantity, say dozens of sets, we recommend buying from a local distributor. why?

This is because ice globes are special products and each contains dozens of milliliters of liquid. The liquid is a material that all international couriers or logistics companies need to focus on verifying, so the shipping price will be higher compared to other products. If your order quantity is small, the air freight cost will far exceed the product cost itself.

Custom Ice Globes Service

We provide custom ice globes service for a few years. Private label services include customizing the ice globe shape, the color, logo printing, and the package. Here we discuss in detail:

Ice Globes Shape Customization

The customization of the ice globe shape is divided into two parts, the diameter of the sphere and the length of the handle. For mini ice globe products, the sphere can be made round or oval, and the length of the handle can be long or short as required. By the way, the handle length does not affect the cost.

Of course, you can also customize the shape of the ice globe you want. You can see that we have launched some non-spherical ice globe products this year. Welcome to inquiry.

Ice Globes Color Customization

The customization of the ice globe color mainly includes liquids and other filling materials. You will need to provide the Pantone No. to confirm the liquid color. For other filling materials, there are currently PET glitter, gold/silver foil, petal gel/immortal flower, water beads, etc. to choose from. If you have other requests, please feel free to let us know.

We will arrange samples for you after receiving your detailed requirements, and finish it within 3~5 days. Mass production will be arranged after the sample is confirmed.

Ice Globe Logo Printing

Generally, we use screen printing to print the logo on the handle. The cost of one-color screen printing is about USD0.10/pc. If the purchased quantity is large, it can be appropriately reduced. Here are some pictures of the silkscreen for reference:

Ice Globes Package Customization

We can simply divide the ice globe package into single packages and double packages. The cost of a single package is relatively low, which can attract more consumers, some brands sell it as a gift for their skincare products or cosmetics. Double package looks better, mostly for retail, and at a higher cost.

Here are the ice globe packaging in detail:

Nacked Packaging

Naked packaging refers to placing the ice globes directly in the EPE tray, then stacked into the outer carton. In this way, a carton can hold 100pcs or so ice globes. This packaging cost is very low, but not every merchant will use it. In fact, buyers who ship in this way are often big brands that have their own factories in the importing countries and will repackage the goods after receiving them.

Below is a layer of naked packaged mini ice globes in cartons:
Blister Tray + White Box / Gift Box

This way is also a common method. Similar to naked packaging, it’s usually sold as a promotional item or for secondary packaging. The main purpose of this packaging is to better protect products at a lower cost. We exported such white box packaging of a single mini ice globe last year, the cost of blister + white box is about USD0.10~0.20/pc.

At present, the main box types are window boxes, aircraft boxes, push-pull boxes, etc., all of which can be customized at a low quantity and relatively cheap cost.
Blister Tray / EVA + Display Box

The display box is a relatively high-end package in all packages. According to the custom quantity, the unit box cost is about USD1.00~1.50 at the MOQ of 500~1000pcs. This packaging material in the display box is usually EVA or blister tray, they both look good.

Such display box is much popular with retailers, as it’s easy to use or store for consumers.

The packaging cost is an important part of the entire product cost, it largely determines the purchase cost. In the actual production, the blister tray size and thickness, the EVA grade, the printing effect of the box, etc. will affect the packaging cost.
